For entering and leaving the office, use only stairs rather than using the lift. It is a good idea to get off the elevator two floors ahead of your office floor and take the stairs to your floor. The same applies when you are leaving the office. When you have to talk to a colleague then instead of shooting an email or talking over the phone, make it a point to walk over to his or her cubicle to talk. In this respect, it is also useful to remember that if possible, use public transport to the office. It is best if your office is located at a convenient distance from your home and you can cycle to the office instead of taking the car. Cycling is a great aerobic exercise that helps you burn extra calories. If you have to use the car to reach the office, then you can place your car in the furthest corner of the parking lot so that you can get that few minutes of extra walk.

When you are in the office try to drink so much of water so try to walk maximum in the office itself be it near to the water cooler, because water is a great way of reducing weight and you need at least eight glasses of water during a day to fight obesity. Your trips to the water cooler will get you some extra exercise too. If you do not want to travel to the water cooler so often, then at least try keeping a water bottle at your cubicle and make sure that you are drinking the water, not just keeping it in the bottle. Water detoxifies your body and helps to control the pangs of binge eating or emotional eating that is so common at the workplace.
Walking in the premises of the office is also good for health after lunch try to walk half an hour after your lunch rather than indulging in talking.

Have some fresh air: If possible, then switch off your mobile phones when you are going for a walk. If you are not getting sufficient time to get the walk then at least walk up and down the office stairs a couple of times to get your exercise. If you are not following any special diet plan like cookie diet then avoid eating too much at workplace parties. Avoid eating and drinking too much at take outs, birthday parties and team bonding sessions. You have to remember that you do not want to gain extra weight because of these sessions. If you remember this simple aim then you will be easily able to control the eating and drinking at these office parties.
